Our sponsorship portfolio includes support for the following not-for-profit organisations.Throughout these partnerships, we work closely with each organisation to strengthen community networks and provide mutually beneficial outcomes.
Beacon Foundation
Beacon is a not-for-profit organisation that sees to influence the attitudes and culture towards Australian youth unemployment so that each young person develops an independent will to achieve personal success for themselves and their community.
Stanwell is partnering with Beacon to create valuable links between industry and schools to promote better understanding of the energy industry and the employment opportunities it provides.
In partnership with Beacon we have established three Stanwell-Beacon Hubs: in Rockhampton, Cairns and Brisbane. These hubs facilitate a collaborative approach to educating local schools about our operations and the career opportunities available to graduates.Through these hubs, we conduct 'Educating the Educators' seminars which enable teachers to gain insight into our operations, our recruitment processes and trainee opportunities.
Life Stream Foundation
Life Stream provides valuable community services to Queenslanders with an intellectual disability. Life Stream delivers services that provide opportunities for education, social, sport, lifestyle, recreation, and leisure experiences to individuals. In 2006, we expanded our partnership with Life Stream by providing space in our Rockhampton office to assist in the expansion of Life Stream services to the Central Queensland region.
Life Stream Rockhampton commenced operations in November 2006, with the appointment of a part time Sport and Leisure Officer, and started implementing their local school-based sport programs for students with an intellectual disability. Programs initiated during the year include a lunch time soccer skills dvelopment program at Rockhampton North Special School and the Life Stream/Stanwell School Ten Pin Bowling League. Life Stream, in conjunction with the Sporting Wheelies and Disabled Association, also conducted an Inter School Multi Sports Expo in Rockhampton in August 2007. The expo is planned to become an annual event and is open to any student from the Central Queensland region with a physical or intellectual disability.
