Stanwell's approach to environmental management is underpinned by an Environmental Management System, which is certified to the international environmental systems standard ISO 14001.
We have developed a Climate Change Strategy to ensure we position both existing and future generation assets to withstand the potential climate change impacts.
It provides a process by which environmental issues are identified and managed, and our Environmental Policy is implemented. Our EMS is part of our overarching Business Management System that ensures integration of processes and supporting documentation.
The reduction of CO2 emissions from power generation, while delivering against a growing demand for baseload electricity, is recognised globally and is supported by our commitment to developing low emission generation technology. Our involvement in feasibility studies for the Wandoan Power Project and Burdekin Hydro demonstrate this commitment.
