Located on 1600 hectares of land, with a capacity to generate 1460 MW, Stanwell Power Station near Rockhampton is our largest operating site. Stanwell Power Station is committed to producing low-cost, reliable energy to assist industrial and residential growth in Queensland.
The highly-automated station is recognised as one of the most efficient and economic coal-fired power stations in Australia. In 2002, Stanwell Power Station's Unit 4 achieved a world record in continuous operation by a single unit by generating for 1073 continuous days. This demonstrates the unit's high level of operational reliability as a result of our quality maintenance culture and the skill and acumen of our people.
In line with our commitment to environmental responsibility, we aim to reduce the levels of greenhouse gas emitted by Stanwell Power Station. The station has an environmental management program in place that delivers improved energy efficiency, waste management practices and raw water usage.
