Stanwell Classic bowls day unites industry to raise $34K for CarersQLD

4 December 2017

A record number of energy industry staff united at Stanwell’s fifteenth annual charity bowls day on Thursday 30 November 2017, raising more than $34,000 for CarersQLD.

The Stanwell Classic bowls day saw employees from dozens of energy market companies, come together to battle it out on the bowling green for bragging rights and to raise much-needed funds for CarersQLD’s Young Carers Program.

Stanwell’s Executive General Manager Energy Trading Steve Quilter said the Stanwell Classic had become one of the industry’s most highly-regarded annual events.

“The Stanwell Classic supports a different Queensland charity each year, and this year we’re pleased the money we raised will contribute to improving the quality of lives of the 60,300 unpaid young carers in Queensland and the loved ones they look after,” Mr Quilter said.

“The Stanwell Classic delivers a unique opportunity for people in our industry to network with peers and contribute to an important Queensland cause.

“It’s been truly rewarding to see this event grow in popularity every year, since its inception in 2003.”

Thank you to everyone who attended and congratulations to Shell Australia who took out the perpetual trophy in this year’s Stanwell Classic.
