Stanwell Apprentices and Mentors recognised for their commitment to training and development

10 October 2019

Each year Stanwell Power Station’s Apprentice and Trainee provider, Gladstone Area Group Apprentices Limited (GAGAL), recognises Apprentices and Trainees from across Central Queensland for making a valuable contribution to their workplaces.

Having our Apprentices recognised for excelling in their training is both a testament to our apprentices’ dedication to learning and the commitment of the site team, especially the mentor group, as they continue to develop our next generation of tradespeople.

This year we were proud to have had a number of our team members recognised at the awards and it is clear our success remains underpinned by the development of our people.

A big congratulations to the following people who were awarded top honours:

  • Jaxson Pringle, fifth year Electrical Apprentice – GAGAL 2019 Apprentice of the year (fifth year)
  • Jack Jacobs,  fourth year Electrical Apprentice – CQAT Apprentice of the year (fourth year)
  • Josh Thorogood, second year Electrical Apprentice – CQAT Apprentice of the year (second year)

This year we also had one of our mentors recognised for the valuable contribution they have made in helping develop high quality tradespeople. Congratulations to Dave Nicholls, Mechanical Tradesperson for being named GAGAL’s 2019 Mentor of the year!

Jodie Luce, GAGAL Field Officer, Josh Thorogood, Electrical Apprentice and Peter Woodall,  SPS Production Manager.
