Stanwell delivers on Electricity Maintenance Guarantee 2025/26

Stanwell has continued to deliver the reliable electricity Queenslanders depend upon, successfully meeting its Electricity Maintenance Guarantee (EMG) targets for 2025/26 and maintaining strong operational performance across its generation portfolio.
In line with its EMG requirements, Stanwell delivered all nominated key performance indicator (KPI) targets across personal safety, process safety, operational performance and maintenance investment.
Stanwell CEO Michael O'Rourke said the results reflected Stanwell’s ongoing focus on maintaining its assets that underpin Queensland’s energy system.
“Stanwell and the Tarong power stations are two of the most reliable and efficient coal-fired power stations in the National Electricity Market,” Mr O’Rourke said.
“Queenslanders rely upon us to provide dependable generation when it's needed most, and that starts with ensuring our assets are maintained safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.
"Our reliability factor of 99.1 per cent demonstrates the ongoing delivery of safe, secure and reliable electricity supply to the market.
"This strong operational performance is the result of our disciplined approach to asset management and the expertise of our people, who work year-round to ensure our generation fleet remains reliable and responsive."
Stanwell undertakes a rigorous year-round asset maintenance program, including major unit overhauls, under its long-term Asset Management Strategy to ensure its generation assets continue to operate safely and reliably.
During 2025/26, Stanwell invested more than $130 million in EMG related capital projects across its power stations including major maintenance and overhaul programs that help ensure our assets operate safely and efficiently, while maintaining the high levels of reliability and availability needed to support Queensland's energy security.
