Applications are now open for Stanwell Power Station’s Community Partnership Fund, giving local community groups the opportunity to secure support for projects that strengthen communities across the Rockhampton region.

Local groups with ideas to strengthen and enrich their communities are invited to apply for Stanwell’s 2026 funding round and access the support needed to turn those ideas into reality.

Stanwell General Manager Central Generation Angie Zahra said the fund reflects Stanwell’s ongoing commitment to supporting the communities that have hosted the power station for more than 30 years.

“The whole purpose of the Community Partnership Fund is to back local organisations to deliver projects that matter most to their communities and that can improve the liveability of our region,” Ms Zahra said.

“Local organisations know their communities best, and this fund is designed to help turn those ideas into projects that will benefit people for years to come.

“Last year, we proudly supported a number of community groups to upgrade lighting, ventilation and access at their halls. Stanwell State School P&C received funding to carry out commemorative landscaping ahead of its 150th anniversary, while Rockhampton Mountain Bike Club was able to purchase new infrastructure and improve trail safety on the Whipsnake and Cactus trails.

“If your organisation has an idea that's ready to move forward but just needs some funding support to get it off the ground, we'd love to hear from you,” Ms Zahra said.

To be eligible, projects must be delivered by a registered not-for-profit organisation, be in the final stages of planning, and create an enduring legacy for the region.

Projects should align with one or more of the following investment focus areas:

• Sustainable communities – initiatives that improve environmental outcomes through sustainability projects, environmental awareness and responsible stewardship.

• Connected communities – initiatives that strengthen social connection, participation and inclusion by bringing people together.

• Healthy communities – initiatives that improve the physical, mental and social wellbeing of community members.

• Resilient communities – initiatives that build long-term economic and social resilience through education, leadership development, capacity building and other activities that strengthen regional communities.

Stanwell encourages organisations to contact its Stakeholder Engagement Team before applying to discuss project eligibility and receive guidance on preparing a strong application.
