PROJECTS IN DEVELOPMENT

Stanwell is progressing a range of projects that will help deliver affordable, reliable and sustainable energy for Queensland. These developments support our strategy to build a geographically and technologically diverse portfolio – including renewable generation, firming and storage – as the energy system shifts towards cleaner energy.

The projects below are at various stages of planning. The average development timeline for major energy projects is around three to five years, and not all will proceed to construction.

Power purchase agreements

Stanwell has Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) in place with the following third-party projects currently in development. Once operational, they will supply energy to our customers and the National Electricity Market.

Wind Farm in outback

129 MW from the Kidston Wind Farm

  • Location: North Queensland

  • Developer: Genex

  • Expected operational date: 2027

  • Location: Southern Queensland (Brendale, north of Brisbane)

  • Developer: Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners

  • Expected operational date: 2027

550 MW from Bulli Creek Stage 1 Solar Farm

  • Location: Southern Queensland

  • Developers: Genex and J-Power

  • Expected operational date: 2027
