Stanwell charges up a new class of graduates

16 April 2021

A talented new class of recruits have powered up their careers by being accepted into Stanwell’s Graduate Program.

Offering extensive on-the-job experience and formal training courses, Stanwell’s Graduate Program provides valuable opportunities for newcomers to the energy industry to develop their skill set and be mentored by highly experienced professionals and subject matter experts.

The new recruits include Angela Gao (People and Culture), Samantha Scobie (Finance), Callum Ross (ICT), David Fegan (Energy Trading and Commercial Strategy), Taylor Bednall (Strategy and Engagement), Andre Vella (Mechanical Engineer) and Ryan Kyriazis (Electrical Engineering).

Participants in the Graduate Program rotate across teams and sites within Stanwell’s diverse portfolio, and are given opportunities to contribute from day one. They participate in business-critical and improvement projects that contribute to Stanwell’s vision and strategy, and network with fellow graduates, leaders and executives.

As well as being paid above award rates and receiving fantastic employee benefits, Stanwell’s graduates are recognised with access to professional memberships with external bodies.

For Taylor Bednall, joining the team at Stanwell is an opportunity to make her mark in an industry in a state of transition.

“I’m eager for an introduction to the energy industry and the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with a range of people in an innovative and forward-thinking company,” she says.

“I’m keen to meet our people and members of our asset communities; to gain practical marketing and communications experience; and to learn more about how the company is evolving as we head towards a low carbon future.”

For Angela Gao, applying for the Graduate Program proved to be an educational experience, even before she was accepted.

“I wanted to work at Stanwell because of its positive organisational culture, which I appreciated throughout the recruitment process,” she says.

“I’m extremely excited about the rotational aspect of Stanwell’s Graduate Program, which will be a fantastic opportunity for me to learn about all of the different sections within the People and Culture team. I would love to see the real-life application of all the knowledge I gained at university.”
