Making your work environment work for you

Stuffy, suburban office parks aren’t the most inspiring spaces to do your best work.  Asking around Stanwell’s Brisbane office, our people would agree. Consistent feedback is that people love our office in the centrally located 180 Brisbane building.

Senior Advisor Industrial Relations, Sarah Nicolle, takes advantage of the office location for errands, shopping, and lunchtime exercise.

“The location of the office makes it perfect for a lunchtime river loop run, training session, or getting shopping done in the city,” she said.

“I need to drop off and pick up my daughter from school in the morning and afternoon — being able to get those other things done in the day saves me so much time in the evenings.

“For those of us that exercise during the day, the building facilities are amazing. Knowing I can work up a sweat at lunchtime or before work, then have a shower (with fresh towels provided) and the use of a blow dryer and hair straightener just makes it all so much easier.”

Located directly opposite Central Station, the office is a short walk from key transit links and the food and retail heart of Brisbane. It’s also right next to parkland, bike and running routes, with state-of-the-art end of trip facilities for sweaty arrivals.

ICT Project Manager, Michael Flynn, commutes into the city on his pushbike and tends to start his days early.

“With so much time spent sitting on calls at my desk, I love taking any opportunity to stretch my legs and clear my head. I find that biking to and from the office is the perfect start and end to my workday,” he said.

“Stanwell’s end of trip facilities in the Brisbane office make it easy to commute to and from work with a convenient entrance, secure bike storage, lockers, showers, towel service, and of course, an iron.

“The facilities are available to all Stanwell employees, and I often end up chatting with colleagues from different teams who also choose to walk, run, or ride into work.”

Cafés in the city cater to the early risers like Michael too.

“Being a cyclist, often getting up at 4:30 am, I’m also a coffee fanatic and love the choice of specialty baristas nearby. On busier days, the Nespresso pods in the office café also do the trick!”
