Stanwell Power Station Unit 3 Overhaul

Our upcoming statutory overhaul on Unit 3 at Stanwell Power Station, located west of Rockhampton, is scheduled to take place from 22 August to 18 October 2021.

This program of works will echo the same rigorous safety plan that was implemented in line with Queensland Health advice during the overhauls we undertook in 2020. See below to learn more about the COVID-19 controls we are implementing during the Unit 3 overhaul at Stanwell Power Station.

Due to the nature of the program of works, essential workers are required to travel into Central Queensland. We are closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation in the lead up to this major project and will adjust our approach and controls as necessary.

An overhaul is a statutory requirement and Stanwell is legally required to undertake the works within specified timeframes. The overhaul will ensure Stanwell Power Station maintains the required level of reliability to support Queensland’s system security requirements, particularly over the summer peak demand period.

Our COVID-19 response

Stanwell is actively monitoring and responding to the COVID-19 situation within Queensland.

Stanwell has implemented a range of measures in line with advice provided by the Australian Government Department of Health, Queensland Health and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

Stanwell’s priority is to ensure the safety of our people, their families, and the communities in which we operate.

Stanwell will remain in close contact with relevant authorities.
