We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we live and work. We recognise and appreciate their deep connection to land, water, culture and community. We recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as Australia’s first people and recognise the enduring and positive contribution that their voices, traditions and histories make to our communities and our business. And we pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging, and extend our acknowledgement and respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

At Stanwell, our vision for inclusion and diversity is to foster an inclusive and diverse environment for all. We recognise and value that it’s an important ingredient to creating a safe, happy and productive workplace – one where we are all embraced regardless of our background, age, gender and professional qualification. This is an important part of shaping Stanwell’s culture and values – We care, We adapt and We deliver.

Our focus

Our focus areas provide a holistic approach to inclusion and diversity by supporting a variety of diversity target groups at Stanwell and in our local community.

Inclusive and diverse culture: promote safety and embrace peoples’ unique differences.

Age diversity: Build a pipeline of talent to support Stanwell now and into the future. This also ensures there is a diverse workforce across all positions, not just entry level, or leadership roles.

Gender equity: Enable all genders to have equitable access to opportunities by removing perceived and physical barriers so that they can freely contribute their ideas, knowledge, perspectives and talents.

Respect: Foster a respectful working environment. Stanwell recognises that it has a duty of care to take reasonable action to prevent and manage discrimination, harassment, sexual harassment and bullying towards employees, contractors, consultants and visitors.

Reconciliation: Support our local communities and foster strong relationships with Traditional Owners.

Every connection we make delivers a brighter future – David Williams.

When we recognise our past it gives us the power to ignite change. Our connections are many and spread across this land. As we create pathways to learn, to grow and show respect for the people who have cared for Country for over 60,000 years, we feel this shift vibrating through our organisation.

Slowly and confidently, we come together – united in a future that is luminous for all.

Our governance

Our Inclusion and Diversity Strategy is governed by an Inclusion and Diversity Community of Practice and site working groups. The community of practice includes representatives from People and Culture, Corporate Affairs, Strategy and Sustainability, Stakeholder Engagement and Health, Safety and Environment teams. This Community of Practice reports into a Manager Equity, Inclusion and Diversity. The site based working groups also provide suggestions and feedback on inclusion and diversity initiatives as well as coordinate communications and events to raise the visibility of inclusion and diversity at Stanwell.
