Ensuring security of supply during the COVID-19 pandemic

20 March 2020

Stanwell is actively monitoring the COVID-19 (novel coronavirus) situation and we are undertaking ongoing reviews to determine if additional actions or measures are needed.

Over recent weeks we have put extensive planning and procedures in place to ensure we continue to deliver a reliable source of energy to Queensland homes, businesses and hospitals.

Our primary focus remains on maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for our employees.

There are high levels of electricity availability in the market, and there are no current concerns about security of supply.

We have put plans in place to ensure essential workers are available to maintain critical operational and business functions. We have also restricted visitor access to our sites to essential personnel only. If you are intending to visit a Stanwell site, please liaise with your contact prior to your arrival to confirm if your attendance is essential.

There is restricted access to critical control centres, including plant control rooms and the trading room.

Stanwell have also implemented a range of other measures in line with advice provided by the Australian Government Department of Health, Queensland Health and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT).

We are providing regular updates to our employees and encourage our people to seek advice from the Queensland Health website, so that they can make informed decisions on their wellbeing.
